I've been feeling uninspired to write. Like, I have a gazillion of things in my head but I just let it swell in my head as experience has thought me not to reveal your original ideas to the wrong people.. But of course I was lying when I said I let it swell in my head, I channel it out in ways that experience too, has thought me a better way of..
Well, albeit the fact that I said I am feeling uninspired to write I know well that I am supposed to write about the Intelligent Investor or discuss about my tummy as I had previously promised. But to garner enough confidence to review a chapter from the Intelligent Innvestor requires a minimum of 7 times reading that particular chapter, maybe investing isn't my cup of tea but that shouldn't hinder my putting more effort in trying. And about the tummy, the problem has been partially solved by headstands.
Partially, only. Rest assured, I am still looking out for the best way to fully conquer the problem.
So below are my current updates:
1. About the Books beside my Bed..
The fiction I am currently reading is Charles Dickens' Great Expectations. I must say, his thinking is way forward beyond his time and his detailed scrutiny is beyond Stephanie Meyer's Twilight (well, Twilight was the only one I could bear to read..). Great Expectation's is my first classic and I am very much enjoying it and somehow I am not anticipating to get over with the book as I did with most fiction. Can you tell me a Malay classic besides Salina, please? I should balance out my reading in both languages.. Other than that, I think I'd like to embark an interest in the History genre, for reasons that shall be concealed from the public. Wtf. Haha. No, I am just kidding, I think History is a beautiful form of story telling of human nature and tendencies.
2. About my Shhh-Shhhhhhh Secret Project
I was with Client #1, when we stumbled upon a shop that caters for my appetite of pretty, well-made things. The shop is a concoction of heavily perfumed body bath and lotions, crystal and engraved wood decor, cute dresses with 'skin-respecting' linings, Muslimah wear and best of all, handbags. And ready-to-wear Oscar De La Renta (I am typing a lot of hypens today..) Ok, I probably should explain what I mean by 'skin-respecting' lining first. I love dresses, and I like 'em cheap. But I have this annoyance with cute dresses with linings made just as an afterthought. But not at this shop.
Now, the handbags. They have Dooney & Bourke! So naturally, I had to buy one so I chose to buy its signature Tassel Tote as I was pressed for time. Nope, did not follow my 3-3-3 decision making rule.. And yep, did not even allocate any money for a handbag. But I made a justification that I might not get this anywhere else in Malaysia. And it's not like I was making an impulse purchase on a Fendi..
And did I mention ready-to-wear Oscar De La Renta? Oh, yes I did, the hypens stuff..
Whenever I see things that I didn't know are available in Malaysia, I get into this total pondan mode like I did in that shop.
3. "So ko memang dah taknak kawan ngan budak-budak U ko dah la skang ni??"
That was said to me through the phone last week. Like, I don't know how to put this nicely.. Let me just put it in one simple sentence. It is unfair to be talking when you are just stepping into somebody else's shoes, and not actually walking in those shoes.
4. Holidays!
Year end holidays are looming nearer and my Thanksgiving holidays are even nearer. Curtain call for 2009....
